The Sounders returned to training today, in advance of their Saturday match at Colorado.
Designated player Clint Dempsey took part in some work, while Obafemi Martins and defender Djimi Traore were on the practice pitch.
DEMPSEY: "We’ll have to see how it goes, but yeah: feeling good, feeling strong. Every day is a progression in training. I’m just going to join in more and more each day. I’m excited about getting back to fitness and hopefully get back to playing soon."

Coach SIGI SCHMID on Dempsey: "We’re trying to take it a step further each day. He came in and worked yesterday with Dave Tenney. Today he went through the whole warm-up, he played as a neutral. We’ll see how he feels tomorrow, and that will determine what we’re going to do on Thursday."
More SCHMID: "(Martins) is OK. I think he had a cortisone shot today. They were just trying to resolve an issue that he’s been having. He’s played with it, but they felt that that would help. … Djimi a little bit his hamstring from the game, so we just wanted him to go easy and stay inside today."
