Here was coach Sigi Schmid's fairly gloomy take on the health of his club going into its Saturday match at Colorado:
"(With Dempsey) it’s a daily thing," he said. "We’ve got to see what he does and then how he reacts to it, so you don’t know until tomorrow. He did a little more today ... so now we’ll see how he feels tomorrow. It’s just like Leo did more the other day, and he didn’t feel as good today, so we just have to see. Again, coming off a hamstring you really need a full week of training, and if oyu’ve had a full week of training you can sustain that. That really says, I’m back from it, and he hasn’t had that yet. … Hahnemann was sick with the flu – I’ve got the flu, too, so don’t get too close. And Djimi with his hamstring, he’ll be a no-go this weekend, but we how he’ll be OK by Wednesday."
