The Sounders FC announced today activities for the October 9 home match versus the Vancouver Whitecaps at CenturyLink Field which is dedicated to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research and treatment during the month of October.Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and first kick is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The match will be played with a commemorative pink adidas Prime 2013 Official Match Ball accompanied by pink corner flags, pink goal nets and pink Soccer Kicks Cancer field boards.
The Professional Referee Organization (PRO) match officials will join players in wearing MLS WORKS pink ribbon patches on their jerseys in addition to pink adidas sweat bands and pink shoe laces. The starting eleven players for both teams will don MLS WORKS pink ribbon t-shirts during the procession and national anthem while goalkeepers will receive pink uniforms and gloves. Gatorade has donated pink sideline towels to support the campaign and coaching staffs have been provided with pink MLS WORKS knit scarves.

Limited edition Breast Cancer Awareness scarves and pins will be available throughout the month with a pledge to donate 10% of the sales to the local chapter of Gilda's Club. Fans can find these items at the two Pro Shop locations, CenturyLink Field and 4th Avenue and Pike Street, or online.
Fans will be greeted at the gates by volunteers from the local chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA) who will distribute 10,000 pink ribbons.
The CenturyLink Field arch lights will be pink Wednesday and Thursday nights throughout the month of October.
