The Seattle Sounders will participate in the 2014 Carolina Challenge Cup as part of their preparation for the 2014 MLS season.
"Last year we went to Tucson," coach Sigi Schmid said. "It’s something different for the team, going to Charleston. They asked us to come, and obviously we’ve got a couple of players – Neagle and Caskey – who have played there. As well, they’ve got a couple of guys who have played for us: Amadou Sanyang and so forth. So there’s a relationship there, and it’s not the worst place to be: South Carolina at that time of the year."
