Tacoma, Wash. – On Tuesday, the Major League Soccer SuperDraft continued with the third and fourth rounds. Sounders U-23 attacker, Aodhan Quinn was selected with the 14th pick of Round 3 to the Philadelphia Union. Quinn becomes the third Sounders U-23 alum selected in this year's draft, in addition to the two Sounders U-23 stars already signed to Sounders FC homegrown contracts.
Aodhan Quinn played eleven games for the U-23s last season. He finished third in minutes, tied for second in points, tied for first in goals, and led the team in shots. In his senior year at Akron, Aodhan won the Mid-American Conference Player of the Year award, was All-MAC First team, and was a MAC Herman semi-finalist.
In 2012, Quinn led the Sounders U-23 in points, goals, and assists. He scored six goals and added three assists during the Sounders U-23 run to the National Final Four.
With Quinn joining the professional ranks, the Sounders U-23 have now produced more than ten professionals for MLS and leagues abroad in just two seasons.
