Three rematches of 2013 MLS Cup Playoff games highlight the slate of contests for Week 8. The Colorado Rapids return to CenturyLink Field on Saturday for the first time since the 2013 Western Conference knockout round when Seattle scored a pair of goals, courtesy of Brad Evans and Eddie Johnson, and put an end to the Rapids’ season. The Sounders are returning home from a successful road trip, taking seven of a possible nine points from three consecutive away games, while Colorado is in equal form in April, picking up two wins and a draw in their last three matches. Defending champions Sporting Kansas City will travel to Gillette Stadium for the first time since last season’s Eastern Conference Semifinals when the New England Revolution won the opening leg of the series 2-1, before ultimately coming up short in the second leg at Sporting Park.

The Houston Dynamo played the spoiler role in 2013, by crashing New York’s Supporters’ Shield party and knocking the Red Bulls out of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Omar Cumming’s extra time goal in the second leg served as the clincher for Houston’s 4-3 aggregate victory. The two teams meet for the first time this season at Red Bull Arena on Wednesday night. New York picked up its first win of the season in last week’s Wednesday night home game, defeating Philadelphia 2-1. Houston will look to regain its form from the beginning of the year and pick up its first win in April.
