With Leo Gonzalez and now Dylan Remick fighting through injuries, coach Sigi Schmid talked about his options at left back for the Wednesday home match against FC Dallas.
"Leo trained today, so we’ll see how he recovered for tomorrow," Schmid said. "Remick, the x-rays were negative: There wasn’t anything broken in there. It’s just an ankle sprain. It depends how it swells out and everything, but it might be a week or two weeks type of thing."
Schmid said Remick twisted his left ankle on a tackle in the first half, and then aggravated the injury in the second.
When Remick came out, Schmid shifted Brad Evans from midfield to left back; but he indicated that might not be the way he'll start things Wednesday. "We’ve got other options," he said. "Zach Scott is an option. He’s played left back for us a lot over the past few years, so he’s certainly an option there. Micheal Azira can play both outside right or outside left back as well in a pinch. We went with (Evans) in the game because we were losing 1-0, we wanted to get Pappa onto the field and we thought it made us a more offensive team by keeping Brad at left back."
