Schmid on World Cup: Possession key for USA; hopes Dempsey and Yedlin away a while

The Sounders are off the training pitch for another day, and off to the viewing party at CenturyLink Events Center. After the session, he spoke about both. Here's what he had to say about the World Cup:

His keys to 1 p.m. USA-Belgium match: I think the U.S. has got to stay in the game, and the longer they stay in the game the better it is. But I think possession is going to be a little more important than it’s been in the other games so far, so they’re going to have to do a better job of keeping possession of the ball.

On if Dempsey/Yedlin could return in time for Vancouver on Saturday: It’s something where we want them to be involved with the national team until July 13. So we’re not going to worry about it until then.
