Sounders coach says it was good game for fans; Tottenham coach says difficult for his players

Here are the opening overview statements from both coaches after Seattle Sounders FC and Tottenham Hotspur FC played to a 3-3 draw at CenturyLink Field in Seattle:

Seattle coach SIGI SCHMID:I think it was a good game; a good game for the fans: lots of goals, some great goals within the game as well, a couple of PKs. I thought the game was good from that account. I was happy with the way that we played in the first half. Not all that happy with all our finishing in the first half. I thought we had opportunities that we need to finish more of and could have been leading at halftime. For them in the second half when they brought basically a new group, their second group played a little quicker, a little more energy than their first group played with, and it took us about 10 to 15 minutes in the second half to catch the rhythm of the game again. The rhythm of the game in the first half was slower, and with their new group sometimes its guys who are on the bench and don’t think they should be there, they’re fighting for spots, the energy level came up higher. But from our fan perspective I thought it was a good game; they saw some good goals.

Tottenham coach MAURICIO POCHETTINOI want to say thank you to the supporters. Yesteday and today they made a big effort who came here to see us. I say thank you, thank you so much for our supporters. … I had a good feeling. I want to congratulate our players because the conditions to play is very difficult: 1 p.m., and warm and in different field and (against) a very good team. We are comforted with the performance because for us it was just one friendly for us.
