The Sounders have concluded training for their 7 p.m. Monday home match with the LA Galaxy.
There wasn't much new on the injury front: Brad Evans and Marcus Hahnemann out. Djimi Traore and Leo Gonzalez uncertain by not ruled out. Dylan Remick and Andy Rose probably available.
Sounders coach Sigi Schmid is going for his 200th MLS win, and he was asked about that.
"It’s not something that I consciously think about," he said. "But it’s just a reflection that I’ve been blessed by having a lot of good players play for me, and good players make it easier to be successful as a coach. I’ve been really pleased with the guys who have played for me and the associations I’ve been able to form with those guys over that period of time. And when you win more than you lose, it always makes those bonds a little more special."
On this season's Galaxy: "Obviously they were missing people at various times they were missing Omar for a period of time. Landon’s had some injuries this year and missed a little bit of time as well. They’ve brought in some new guys … they’ve been blending in new people. … That’s why maybe people don’t look at them the same way, but I look at them the same way because Bruce is always going to have a team that’s competitive and is going to find a way to get results."
Schmid also talked a bit about the MLS standings, where other teams have drawn closer while the Sounders have been off for 15 days. I'll get more of that up in another blog post later.
