Scott: "It has been a good season" vs. Timbers

On going 3-0-1 vs. the Timbers in MLS and U.S. Open Cup: It has been a good season. But I think our postseason against them really left a bad taste in everybody’s mouth – everyone who was a part of it. I think it was nice to kind of turn that around so far. We’re still looking at quite a bit of games here before the playoffs. And to be honest with you, I think Portland will make the playoffs and we may see them again. So, so good so far. There wasn’t really mthat much video work we had to do on them: We kind of knew who we were facing. So getting a win, especially in Portland, is tremendous. It’s such a tough place to play.

On using memories of the 2013 playoff elimination in Portland: I think we were even a little bit disappointed with our first game down here, letting in four goals isn’t something you want to do. Even though we came out with a tie, it was sort of a sour taste in everybody’s mouth. So getting knocked out of the playoffs and then not getting a good result early in the season, we really wanted to turn that around. I think we were due for a solid game, because we had put a string of games together that we weren’t happy with. So this is kind of a springboard toward the end of the season.
