Spirited session, and progress from injured trio

The Sounders are off the practice pitch for another day. Most of their work was closed to the media. However, from what we saw of a short-field game at the end, it was an exceptionally spirited session. But it ended loosely, with Clint Dempsey standing in goal for at least a couple of his teammates' PKs.

"The attitude was good," coach Sigi Schmid said. "Obviously we played on Sunday. The guys had Monday off. Yesterday we had guys in split groups. Today we all trained together. I thought the enthusiasm was good. The guys were after it. I thought they were pretty sharp in the 11-v-11. And goals-in-tight was good as well."

Schmid also had this health update on Leo Gonzalez, Zach Scott and Gonzalo Pineda: "Every day we know a little bit more. They got through practice OK yesterday, so today they went through practice again, and we did some specific testing afterward with Leo and Zach . Now we’ll see how they feel tomorrow, and that will make our final determination. But they’re all right there: either ready to start or definitely be in the 18."
