Sci-fi classic ‘Dune’ is the TNT Book Club’s selection for June

The June book for the TNT Book Club is the sci-fi classic “Dune” by Frank Herbert.

It narrowly edged out “The Library Book” by Susan Orlean in online voting.

Herbert was born in Tacoma, and his award-winning book was the close second place selection from last month. “The Library Book” will be a top contender for July.

The first book in Herbert’s series from 1965 follows the life of Paul Atreides on the planet Arrakis, where he must survive the dangerous environment, giant worms and subterfuge from within his own ranks. The book remains an inspiration for an entire generation of science fiction stories. It was recently made into a film starring Rebecca Ferguson, Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya and Jason Momoa, which is set to be released this December.

We recommend getting the book from a local bookstore such as King’s Books, which is now offering curbside pickup.

You also can join our Facebook group to discuss the book and get important details about the discussion which will be hosted at the end of June.

Happy reading!
