Dig through the attic for those bell bottoms and find that vest from the basement. Hippie attire strongly encouraged for “Janis Lives — A Tribute to Janis Joplin” at Jazzbones on Saturday.

Sherrie “Voxxy” Johnson channels Joplin in the three-hour show that also features Creedence Clearwater Revival as performed by Creedence Rising and Neil Young covered by Gene Vallejo.

Johnson is known around the South Sound for her other groups, Voxxy Vallejo and Devil On A Leash.

Publicist Angela Jossy said she gets choked up at Johnson’s performance.

“It’s a deep emotional experience,” Jossy said.

Johnson’s last Janis Lives show at Jazzbones in December 2014 sold out, Jossy noted.
