From Lunar New Year fun to EDM shows, here are things to do in Tacoma this month
February may be the shortest month of the year, but it’s jam packed with things to do.
Whether you’re looking for family-friendly fun or a night out with friends, here are some Tacoma events to fill your calendar with throughout the month.
Lunar New Year Celebrations
Tet Lunar New Year Opening Ceremony

Tet is Vietnam’s annual Lunar New Year celebration, marking the arrival of spring. 2026 is the Year of the Horse. The free event at the Eastside Community Center includes lion dance, an ao dai fashion show (Vietnam’s national dress), a martial arts performance and traditional Vietnamese food.
Lincoln District Lunar New Year Festival

The South Sound’s largest Lunar New Year celebration takes place in the Lincoln District each year. Visitors can expect lion dancers performing through the streets, firecrackers, an outdoor marketplace, a variety of food trucks, family-friendly activities and more.
APCC Lunar New Year

The Asia Pacific Cultural Center features a different host country each year for its annual Lunar New Year celebration, and this year is Cambodia. The free event will include performances, cultural demonstrations, martial arts, authentic cuisine and a variety of vendors
Comedy Shows
James “Murr” Murray

Murray, best known as “Murr” on the hit TV show “Impractical Jokers,” presents Murr Live at the Tacoma Comedy Club for two nights. The club describes the event as an interactive stand-up comedy show where Murray tells stories, shows never-before-seen footage from the show and plays Impractical Jokers live with the audience. Tickets are $45 and are available online.
Joe Dombrowski

Dombrowski was named as one of Variety’s top 10 comics to watch last year and recently performed a stand-up set on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” about top baby names for gay parents-to-be. His material on this current tour highlights his marriage, being a new dad and his years as an elementary school teacher, according to the comedy club. Tickets are $30 and are available online.
April Macie

Macie, a Tacoma native, has been in the stand-up game for a while. She reached the finals of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” in 2006 and appeared on the Netflix series “Tiffany Haddish Presents: They Ready,” the Howard Stern show and Comedy Central. Marlon Wayans
- Feb. 20 and 21 at 7 p.m. and 9:45 p.m., Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. at Tacoma Comedy Club on Market Street

The actor, producer, comedian, writer and director Wayans has appeared in mutiple hit films like “White Chicks,” the “Scary Movie” series and the sitcom the Wayans Bros. He’s also released multiple comedy specials including “Woke-ish,” “Good Grief” and “God Loves Me.” Tickets for his show are $58 and are available online.
Other events
Excision Presents: The Thunderdome

Excision, a Canadian DJ and electronic music producer, is coming to the Tacoma Dome for three nights, and it’s expected to get loud. A host of other EDM DJs and dubstep groups will join Excision onstage during each show. You can see Excision’s Tacoma Dome concert from last year on YouTube. Disenchanted! The Musical

This award-winning musical comedy tells the story of Snow White and her fellow disenchanted princesses, who are revolting against how they’ve been portrayed in storybooks.
“Forget the princesses you think you know – these royal renegades are here to comically belt out the truth,” reads the event promotion. Tickets start at $50 and are available on Ticketmaster.
Glass Fusing Workshops

The Tacoma Glass Gallery holds workshops every Friday, Saturday and Sunday where participants can explore handmade glass, learn about the glass-fusing process and create their own glass art. Each participant starts with a clear flat tile and then builds their design piece by piece. All skill levels are welcome. Each workshop is $71 per person and can be booked online.
The Glass Gallery is also hosting a glass fusing workshop with Queer Arts Project on Wednesday, Feb. 18 from 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. Tickets are $38 and can be found online at Eventbrite.
Party for Polar Bears

Spend a day out on the town and help polar bears while you’re at it. To celebrate International Polar Bear Day, several businesses in the Proctor District will donate a portion of their proceeds on Feb. 28 to support polar bear conservation. Participating businesses include Chirp and Co., Compass Rose, Ice Cream Social, Pacific Northwest Shop and Fondi Pizzeria.
As part of the “Proctor Polar Bear Crawl,” there will also be a 21+ celebration at Peaks and Pints from 6-9 p.m. More information can be found on the Party for Polar Bears website.
The Tacoma Flea

This monthly flea market in Ruston will be back the weekend of Feb. 21. The market features vintage clothing, leather goods, designer bags, jewelry, decor and more. There are often long lines to get into the flea market, so plan accordingly.
