Should You Pull For Nishino Flower In Umamusume Pretty Derby?

The dainty and graceful Nishino Flower finally debuts as a playable trainee in Umamusume starting April 12! This event introduces a spotlight banner for Nishino Flower at increased rates, running parallel to a support card banner for SSR Daiwa Scarlet and SR Sweep Tosho. Let's take a quick look at Nishino Flower and analyze her skills, career performance, and her usage in the current meta.

Nishino Flower Stats And Skills

Nishino Flower is a strong Pace Chaser who excels in Sprint and Mile tracks. She has a 15% stat growth in both Speed and Power, which is highly desirable for her preferred type of races.

Unique SkillEffect

Budding Blossom

If the user engaged in a challenge on a mid-race corner, increase acceleration when well-positioned late-race at least halfway through the final corner.

Her unique skill is comparable to Taiki Shuttle's [Shooting For Victory!], where it activates at the 3rd-4th position at the final corner. However, [Budding Blossom] has an extra condition of requiring a challenge during a mid-race corner. In exchange, Nishino's unique skill can also activate in the final straight, making it highly more versatile than [Shooting For Victory!].

Should You Pull Analysis

Nishino Flower

Strengths

  • Highly meta unique skill for inheritance
  • Excellent stat growths
  • Strong contender for Sprint and Mile races

Weaknesses

  • Requires 7-10 Medium Sparks to run Trackblazer effectively
  • Innate skills are situational and track-dependent

Nishino Flower currently possesses the best unique acceleration skill for Sprint tracks, while still being effective for the majority of Mile races. The only caveat is its two-step condition: first, requiring the runner to challenge a rival on a mid-race corner, and second, being in 3rd or 4th position during the spurt. The latter condition can be quite tricky when the lobby is front-heavy or even anti-front, since the ideal setup requires 2-3 runners ahead at the last spurt.

Regardless, Nishino Flower's versatile ult and high stat growth means she's quite easy to raise for most career scenarios, with the exception of Trackblazer. She possesses [E] aptitude in Medium, which requires 7 Medium sparks to reach [B], or 10 sparks to [A]. Furthermore, additionally running on Medium offers more epithets and stats than just on Sprint and Mile. Although not impossible, this would also make it harder to raise her Sprint, Mile, or Turf aptitude up to [S] rank.

Rating

Nishino Flower - 5/5

F2P Value - High

In summary, Nishino Flower revitalizes the Pace Chaser meta for shorter tracks, pairing up with Taiki Shuttle's unique skill for a devastating combo. While Front Runners can still be formidable opponents in Mile races due to Seiun Sky's [Angling And Scheming], Pace Chasers are now favored for Sprint races, with Nishino leading the way.
