Prince Louis can make even the most serious royal crack! The youngest child of Prince William and Kate Middleton turns 8 years old on April 23, and he's been one of the most photographed kids in the royal family during events because of his antics.

William and Kate welcomed Louis in 2018. They are also parents to Prince George, who was born in July 2013, and Princess Charlotte, who was born in May 2015. The Princess of Wales has revealed the sweet nickname of "Loubugs" for her youngest, and it's clear he's a very special young member of the royal family.

After being asked if Louis is "a bit of a handful" during a royal engagement in September 2025, William laughed about his youngest being cheeky to his older siblings.

"He's a character, but he's a very good boy. He likes to wind his brother and sister up," the Prince of Wales said at the time.

William and Kate aren't afraid of a bit of rambunctious energy from their kids. In a guest essay for the Huffington Post in 2016, the mom of three wrote that she wants her kids to "speak about their feelings" and to "give them the tools and sensitivity to be supportive peers to their friends as they get older."

Although their lives are unconventional as royals, Kate has also said that nothing is more central to their lives than passing down their values to their children.

"My parents taught me about the importance of qualities like kindness, respect and honesty, and I realize how central values like these have been to me throughout my life," Kate said during a royal engagement in 2017. "That is why William and I want to teach our little children … just how important these things are as they grow up. In my view, it is just as important as excelling at math or sport."
