This ‘Hollyoaks' Star Just Broke His Silence on Returning to the Show 7 Years After His Character Was Killed Off

Former Hollyoaks star Parry Glasspool knows exactly what fans want to hear, but he warns that bringing his character Harry Thompson back from the dead is a ‘dangerous' question to ask.

Glasspool portrayed Harry Thompson, the son of legacy character Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard). He first appeared in Hollyoaks Later in 2013 before joining the main series in 2015, remaining until the character's death in 2019.

Since his exit, fans have continued to call for the show to find a way to bring Harry back, despite the character's on-screen death.

In a video shared on his personal TikTok account, Glasspool responded to the question directly. "That's a pretty dangerous question to ask an actor who is not currently acting… if he would like to go back to an acting job that's pretty stable," he said, jokingly.

He also questioned whether a return would make sense creatively, asking if it might "cheapen the storyline" surrounding Harry's death.

Reflecting on the character's exit, Glasspool said he was satisfied with how the story concluded, noting that "the writing was good" and adding, jokingly, that he might be biased about the acting.

Still, he admitted he would personally be open to returning. "From a personal standpoint, it's a good job, my mates are still there, there are a lot of people there, it's acting, I'd be able to do my PT on top of that. It's a cool job."

Ultimately, however, Glasspool said he believes bringing Harry back would undermine the character's story and questioned whether audiences would accept such a return.

In a follow-up video, Glasspool revealed that he has also auditioned for other soap roles. He previously appeared briefly on Emmerdale as Jason Denshaw during Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) drug storyline.

While he did not reveal which other soap opera he has auditioned for, Glasspool said he made it to the final stages for a role before it ultimately went to a former Hollyoaks co-star, whom he described as "much better suited for the part."

He added that he has not yet auditioned for EastEnders, though he appeared open to the possibility.

Hollyoaks airs Monday through Wednesday on E4 in the U.K. with episodes airing one week later globally on YouTube.
