'Days of Our Lives' Star Patrick Muldoon Seen With Former '90s Girlfriend in Final Public Appearance Before His Death at 57
Beloved Days of Our Livesstar Patrick Muldoon's sudden death at age 57 has rocked Hollywood.
The actor spent decades in the entertainment world and was best known for playing Austin Reed on the hit Peacock soap. After learning the sad news of his premature death, several of Muldoon's former co-stars have paid tribute to him.
Muldoon didn't hide from the public eye that gave him the career he loved. In fact, his last public appearance was for the 53rd Annual Saturn Awards on March 8 at the Hilton Universal City in Los Angeles. The awards show, hosted by Joel McHale, honors the best sci-fi, fantasy, and horror in film and television.
The soap star looked dapper in a blue suit as he walked the red carpet with a familiar face. Muldoon was photographed on the red carpet with his long-time friend and former flame, Denise Richards.
Richards stunned in a short, bright yellow off-the-shoulder dress, as the longtime friends posed and smiled at the camera.
Muldoon and Richards go way back, meeting at an acting class when she was just 19 years old. Later, they worked together on the 1997 film Starship Troopers and began dating, becoming a very popular Hollywood couple in the late ‘90s.
The relationship ended in 2000, but they remained close friends until his death. Richards revealed last year on an episode of her Bravo show, Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, that she paused her friendship with Muldoon when she was married to actor Charlie Sheen.
"I did not speak to Pat when I was married to Charlie. And it was hard, because I didn't want to lose him as a friend. But toward the end of the marriage, I talked to him all the time about him," Richards expressed.
Muldoon also appeared on an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills with Richards and his former Days of Our Lives co-star Lisa Rinna. The actor held his own with all the RHOBH ladies as he was bombarded with questions about hooking up with Rinna and dating Richards at the same time.
The beloved soap star died on Sunday, April 19, at age 57 from a heart attack.
Muldoon is survived by his parents, Deanna Muldoon and William Patrick Muldoon Sr., his long-time girlfriend, Miriam Rothbart, his sister, Shana Zappa, brother-in-law, Ahmet Zappa, along with his niece, Halo Zappa, and nephew, Arrow Zappa.
