Something 'Strange' Is Happening to McDonald's Happy Meals
Netflix and McDonald's are collaborating to bring Stranger Thingsfans a brand-new Happy Meal in honor of the newly released animated spinoff show Stranger Things: Tales From '85.
Although Stranger Things concluded with Season 5, the larger universe has left stories to be explored, including in the Tales from '85 series, set between the second and third seasons of the original show. In this new story, the main kids (and some brand-new faces) are fighting back against new, terrifying monsters that are infiltrating Hawkins-something that is especially surprising considering Eleven seemingly closed the gate to the Upside Down in Season 2.
Faced with this mystery, the kids, led by Dustin Henderson, established the Hawkins Investigators Club to search for answers and a way to defeat this new foe, and now, they need the help of McDonald's fans too. These very same creatures have infiltrated the Golden Arches, and by scanning the QR code on every Happy Meal, guests can enter an interactive game and help the gang save Hawkins once more.
McDonald's New Happy Meals Have Multiple Stranger Things Features
The Tales From '85 Happy Meals include a custom Stranger Things: Tales From '85-inspired Happy Meal box, one of 12 collectible character toys from the show, a Stranger Things activity book and the previously mentioned QR code that will drop fans right into the action.
When Will Tales From '85 Happy Meals Be Available?
The Happy Meals will be available in the United States on May 5 and at participating locations worldwide on a rolling basis. The global rollout dates are as follows:
