Crystal Of Atlan Teams Up With NieR: Automata For A Massive Crossover

Crystal of Atlan is celebrating its first anniversary in a big way, and it is bringing one of gaming's most beloved universes along for the ride. The Crystal of Atlan x NieR: Automata collaboration launches on May 21, 2026, and runs through June 18, packed with crossover cosmetics, a brand-new class, a new world boss, and a first anniversary festival that the game's community has been building toward all year.

This one is worth paying attention to, whether you are a returning player, a NieR fan who has been curious about Crystal of Atlan, or someone looking for a reason to jump in for the first time. The collab lines up with a real breadth of content, and the anniversary brings the whole package together.

2B, 9S, and the Karmaslayer Class

The collaboration brings outfits and weapons inspired by 2B and 9S from NieR: Automata into Crystal of Atlan, letting you bring the YoRHa aesthetic into the game's world. If the idea of running through Atlan in 2B's outfit is enough to get you to log back in, NVS Games is very much counting on that, and the cosmetics look sharp from what has been shown so far.

The bigger gameplay addition is the Karmaslayer, a brand-new class debuting as part of the collab. New class launches are always significant moments in Crystal of Atlan's lifecycle, and launching one alongside a major crossover event means plenty of players will be experimenting with it at the same time. If you have been waiting for a new class to try, It's time to hop back in.

Battle of Grün: The World Boss Event

The collab's centerpiece PvE event is the Battle of Grün, which swaps the world boss for the Machine Lifeform Grün straight out of NieR: Automata. Boss windows are every Friday and Sunday at 20:30, so mark those in your schedule now. These world boss events are where Crystal of Atlan's combat systems shine brightest, and having Grün as the target is a genuinely cool touch for anyone who knows the source material.

Running alongside the boss is the Hacking Protocol mini-game, which takes the NieR: Automata hacking mechanic as its inspiration. It is a fun change of pace from the standard combat loop and a smart way to work more of NieR's identity into the event beyond just cosmetics.

YoRHa Combat Supply and Emil's Shop

Progression through the collaboration events generates Chips, which feed into two parallel reward systems. The YoRHa Combat Supply lets you level up your Chips haul for exclusive event rewards, while Emil's Shop is where the limited collab items live. Emil's Shop is the place to check first for anything you want to guarantee before the event closes on June 18, since limited items do not come back once the window shuts.

First Anniversary Festival and the $8,000 Showmatch

The NieR collab is arriving alongside Crystal of Atlan's first anniversary festival, and NVS Games is making it count. The headline event is the COA SUPER SHOWMATCH: ANNIVERSARY EDITION, a cross-region exhibition match running from May 7 through May 31, featuring viral gaming influencers from Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines competing for a total prize pool of up to $8,000.

This event is the kind of community event that Crystal of Atlan has been building toward as it expands its Southeast Asian presence, and pairing it with the biggest crossover the game has done yet makes the timing feel intentional. Hopefully, these events eventually reach stateside, too.

When and Where to Play

The Crystal of Atlan x NieR: Automata collaboration goes live on May 21, 2026, and runs until June 18, 2026. Crystal of Atlan is available on mobile and PC. The Karmaslayer class, the Battle of Grün world boss, and Emil's Shop all unlock with the update, so May 21 is the date to have the game ready and your Chips strategy figured out.
