Cher's Son Says He No Longer Gets 'Recurring Gift Income' From Singer-Receives 'Only $10K' a Month From Trust
The complicated relationship between Cher and her son Elijah Blue Allman continues following new court filings that have been released that are tied to his divorce proceedings.
According to recently filed legal documents that were obtained by PEOPLE on Friday, May 8, Allman claims the music icon stopped providing him with regular financial support several years ago. The filing was submitted as part of his request to lower the spousal support payments he currently makes to his estranged wife, Marieangela King.
Per the documents, Allman alleged he no longer receives a "recurring gift income" from Cher and instead "receives only $10,000 per month from his father's trust." The 49-year-old, who is the son of Cher and the late Gregg Allman, reportedly said the financial support from his mother ended in August 2021.
The filing also states that Allman currently pays King $6,500 per month in spousal support following their split, though his attorneys are now requesting that amount be reduced to $1,651 monthly. He additionally claimed his estranged wife has "made no efforts to become self-supporting."
In recent years, the singer has also pursued conservatorship efforts involving her son. In April 2026, Cher filed for conservatorship of Allman for a second time, alleging he has "no concept of money." Court documents additionally claimed he "spends any money he gets immediately" on "drugs, expensive hotels, and limousine transportation." The request was denied without prejudice on April 24.

The filing followed several troubling incidents involving Allman. Earlier this year, he was arrested in New Hampshire after allegedly causing a disturbance at St. Paul's School in Concord. Authorities charged him with two counts of simple assault, criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct after police said he was acting belligerently in the school's dining hall. The incident remains under investigation, and Allman is being held in a psychiatric hospital.
In 2025, authorities also responded to reports of "erratic" behavior involving Allman at a California home, where police later said drugs were found before he was admitted to a medical facility.
In addition to Allman, Cher is also mom to Chaz Bono, whom she shares with her late ex-husband Sonny Bono. Chaz, 57, was routinely featured on their variety show The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour throughout his childhood. Initially assigned female at birth, Chaz transitioned to male after his 40th birthday and documented the journey in a 2011 documentary, Becoming Chaz.
