MCU Star Involved in Tense Biking Altercation

Marvel Cinematic Universe star Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Doctor Strange in multiple Marvel movies, was recently involved in a heated altercation while biking.

In a video shared by TMZ, Cumberbatch can be seen and heard engaging with another cyclist, both of whom were speaking with elevated voices. The video begins with the pair further away, but both Cumberbatch and the other cyclist involved eventually come closer to the person filming, at which point the other cyclist can be heard calling Cumberbatch "deluded" and accusing him of lying.

Cumberbatch, in turn, alleges that the other cyclist was "verbally abusing" him. At one point, the other cyclist accuses Cumberbatch of repeatedly breaking the law, seemingly referring to something that happened on the road, to which Cumberbatch can be heard saying, "I did once, and I've admitted to it," although it's unclear what he is referring to at that point.

Per People, the specific allegation made against Cumberbatch by the other cyclist was that he had run red lights, but it isn't confirmed that Cumberbatch was specifically admitting to that accusation when he said he "did once."

Cumberbatch has appeared in multiple Marvel movies, beginning with the 2016 movie Doctor Strange, for which he was the titular lead. Since then, the star has appeared in a sequel to that movie, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, as well as the last two Avengers movies, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

Cumberbatch also played a key role in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the most recent Spider-Man installment ahead of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is releasing on July 31, and he had a brief appearance in Thor: Ragnarok as well.

Interestingly, there have been contradictory reports, including from Cumberbatch himself, regarding whether he will appear in the next Avengers movie, Avengers: Doomsday, which will hit theaters later this year, on December 18. Many suspect that he is in the movie but that his appearance is being kept under wraps for now, although that remains to be seen.
