Beloved Chain Restaurant Raises Menu Prices Thanks to Inflation
Check please! A wildly popular restaurant chain has announced that it quietly raised menu prices nationwide. The news was shared in a quarterly earnings report, in which Texas Roadhouse outlined some of its financial results from the first half of the year.
And while some people may not have noticed the price hike, especially as prices on everything from gas to groceries continue to climb, it's clear that things aren't getting any more affordable anytime soon. So, just how much does it now cost you to enjoy a basket of rolls and Texas Roadhouse's famous butter? Keep reading to find out.
Texas Roadhouse Announces Price Hike in Quarterly Earnings Report
Diners who hope to nosh on some of the fan-favorite menu items at Texas Roadhouse will now be paying more for the opportunity, according to a new quarterly earnings report from the company.
The company says it increased menu prices by 1.9 percent beginning in early April, which means you may have already noticed a slight bump. But the change in menu prices doesn't mean the company is in trouble. Instead, the earnings report suggests the steakhouse is booming.

Texas Roadhouse Has Seen an Earnings Increase
The report went on to detail a few other important figures from early 2026, noting that the company's average weekly sales had risen to $174,151 in the first quarter, up from $163,071 at the same time last year. Additionally, the sales increased by 7.1 percent when compared to last year.
But the report also noted that the restaurant saw an increase in internal costs, including labor and healthcare. Which means that even though the restaurant saw a bump in sales, the revenue may not have exactly increased at the same time, hence the price increase.
"We kicked off 2026 with terrific momentum, thanks to the hard work and discipline of all our operators," Jerry Morgan, Chief Executive Officer of Texas Roadhouse, Inc., said in the quarterly report. "Our strong traffic trends continue to fuel sales growth, and it's clear that our commitment to delivering a legendary experience is appreciated by our guests."

During a time when absolutely everything seems to be getting more expensive, hopefully, the increase in menu prices doesn't backfire on the steakhouse, which offers affordable family meal deals for those looking for a mid-priced dining experience. With so many people cutting extra expenses and luxury spending, a steak that costs more this month than it did last month could fall into that category.
However, if Texas Roadhouse continues to lure customers with its beloved menu items and family-friendly dining experience, it may be able to stay afloat longer than other establishments that can't quickly adjust to changing consumer sentiment. Only time will tell how people actually feel about the price increase and whether or not it pushes the restaurant into unaffordable territory for some.
