Is Donald Trump Going to His Son's Wedding in the Bahamas This Weekend?

President Donald Trumpisn't sure if he'll go to his own son's Memorial Day weekend wedding. Reports recently surfaced that Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson plan to wed in an intimate ceremony in front of family and friends. That is, family and friends minus the father of the groom.

On Thursday, reporters asked Trump if he would attend the ceremony. The Commander-In-Chief responded, " He'd like me to go, but it's going to be just a small little private affair, and I'm going to try and make it. I'm in the midst…I said, ‘You know this is not good timing for me.' I have a thing called Iran and other things."

Trump continued, "That's one I can't win on. If I do attend, I get killed. If I don't attend, I get killed. By the fake news, of course, I'm talking about. No, but he's got a very, a person who I've known for a long time, and hopefully they're going to have a great marriage."

The clip of Trump's supposed explanation quickly went viral, with plenty of people posting their views online. One X user pointed out, "He has been golfing every weekend since the Iran war began, but can't attend his son's wedding because he has a thing called Iran and other things," while another quipped, "Stealing "I have a thing called Iran and other things" as my new default excuse for getting out of plans I don't want to go to."

While Trump Jr. and Anderson have yet to confirm the date of their nuptials, it looks like the President thinks it will indeed happen this weekend. Page Six recently reported that the wedding would take place on a private island in the Bahamas.

Anderson did have an over-the-top, opulent bridal shower at Mar-A-Lago last month, prompting speculation that the couple would tie the knot sometime in the near future. The soon-to-be-Mrs. Trump Jr. posted a video of the event on Instagram, showcasing the lavish affair. During the clip, Anderson shares (in an emotion-charged speech), "The truth is, I would marry you regardless of what your last name is or what family you come from because I think you're the most incredible man I've ever met in my entire life. And I'm also so proud to be joining your family."
