Jill Duggar Asks for Prayers Amid Major Family Update

Jill Duggar just asked for prayers amid a major family update involving her husband, Derick Dillard.

On Sunday, May 24, the former Counting On and 19 Kids and Counting star took to Instagram with a rare photo of herself, Dillard, and their three sons: Israel, 11, Samuel, 8, and Freddy. 3.

"πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈAnd he's off! ✈️ Prayers appreciated for all of us in this new season as @derickdillard is at the rigorous Marine Corps Officer Candidate school (basic training/bootcamp) this summer with limited to no communication!" Duggar began in the caption.

She added, "Lord willing, he will graduate and then go on to complete more training before becoming a Marine Corps JAG officer (Marine Corps Attorney)! Thanks for the love and support. β€οΈπŸ€πŸ’™πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ."

To conclude her message, the former TLC star asked for advice from fellow military families on how to best cope while she and Dillard have little to no communication as he's in basic training.

In the comments, followers offered prayers and tips to Duggar and her family as they embark on this new chapter in their lives. One Instagram user wrote, "Praying for him & for you and your sweet children during this time πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»."

Someone else suggested, "Praying, definitely start writing letters for him."

Duggar and Dillard have been married since 2014. He is the first of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's kids/in-laws to serve in the military. Meanwhile, Jill is one of the few Duggar siblings to speak out against being raised under the Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBPL).
