Supergroup With '80s Rock Legends Announce First-Ever Live Show

Lex Legion finally announced some exciting news.

The European hard metal supergroup, which consists of Nils K. Rue of Pagan's Mind and King Diamond members Mikkey Dee, Pete Blakk, Andy LaRocque and Hal Patino, announced via Instagram on Tuesday that they will be performing their first-ever show on November 28 at the Filmstudion Göteborg (Gothenburg Studios) in Sweden. More details and tickets can be purchased on Lex Legion's official website.

"The first curtain is going up. Our debut live show is coming!" they wrote in their caption. "Join us at Filmstudion Göteborg, Sweden on 28th November 2026!"

Lex Legion was formed earlier this year by former King Diamond guitarist Blakk and Dee, alongside Patino and LaRocque. They were a part of the popular Danish rock band, King Diamond, which was established in 1985. LaRocque is the only original member of King Diamond still performing alongside frontman King Diamond, whose real name is Kim Petersen.

LaRocque told The Metal Crypt last month that the idea of Lex Legion was formed back in 2008 with Blakk. They started writing a couple of songs together, but it was scratched until Blakk picked them up again during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since King Diamond and most live entertainment were at a halt, it was the perfect time for Lex Legion to get together and create songs.

"It took us about, I don't know, many years. If you count it from 2008 up until now, that's many years. For the final maybe three or four years, we put everything together," LaRocque said. "In the very end, everything went quite fast. We got a record deal, and everything was really smooth in the very end."

The band will be releasing their self-titled debut album via MNRK Heavy on June 12. So far, Lex Legion has released the first two songs of the album: "Sleep Eternally" in late March and "Gypsty Tears" earlier this month. LaRocque has described the upcoming album as having "a little bit of everything," and will be heavily inspired by the sounds of the 1970s and 1980s.

"We are old-school guys, but we still want a modern sound. Our roots and our metal and rock and roll schooling come from, I would say, the late '70s, the '80s. That's our school. It's definitely in the '80s, I would say," the Swedish guitarist explained. "Listening to all the cool bands that were around at the time, Ozzy Osbourne and a lot of great guitarists from that era. Both me and Pete, the other guitarist, are from that school, and that's how we write riffs."

Dee added on their band bio on MRNK Heavy, "Lex Legion is totally written the way we thought in the '80s. We wrote what we wanted. If you liked it, great bonus. If you didn't, that was fine with us too!"

"This is totally unique. No one is writing this kind of music and there's a big hole for us to fill," Blakk said. "Welcome to our new journey of friendship and hard rock!"

Lex Legion will be out on all streaming platforms on June 12. Presale for the supergroup's First Show Ever will take place on Wednesday.
