'90s Rom-Com Queen Returns in New Film Being Called an ‘Absolute Delight'
For fans of 1990sromanticcomedies, there's no way to think of this golden era of movies without picturing actress Rachael Leigh Cook, who was arguably the queen of this genre. Luckily for fans of Cook, she is officially back to the genre that made her a star with her latest project, a rom-com movie called There She Goes, which people are already in love with.
To make the big return even more special and fitting, Cook plays a woman named Molly who left her high school sweetheart to become a super successful '90s rom-com star. Her ex-boyfriend is played by Utkarsh Ambudkar.
As Molly tries to move on after fame and settle for a marriage with a tech mogul played by Ryan Hansen, her ex-boyfriend gets one last chance to win her back before she ties the knot. Other actors who appear in the film include Lea DeLaria, Mark Linn-Baker, Sakina Jaffrey and more.
Ambudkar posted about the movie before its premiere on Fox on May 28, sharing a clip and some stills as he wrote, "What happens when high school sweethearts re-unite after 25 years? A friggin' bangin' soundtrack, cute comedic banter and a maybe a little el-oh-v-eeeeee."
Fans of the actor, Cook, and rom-coms tuned in for the big premiere before sharing their thoughts in the comments.
"LETS GOOOOOOOOO👏," cheered one fan, while another said, "I watched it and loved it. Another fabulous movie, as always @rachaelleighcook."
A third fan shared a raving endorsement as they wrote, "This was an absolute DELIGHT!! We did it!! Congrats and thank you for letting me join the romcom journey! Y'all crushed!"
