Reese's Book Club Pick This Month Is Heading to TV - With Scarlett Johansson Attached

In case you haven't heard, Reese Witherspoon has a little group that's run through her Hello Sunshine company, known as Reese's Book Club.

The Oscar winner's latest pick is The Fine Art of Lying by Alexandra Andrews. And now, the May 2026 selection is being adapted into a television series, Deadline reports.

Andrews, 38, is reportedly executive producing the project along with Scarlett Johansson's These Pictures company.

Founded in 2017, These Pictures also produced the Apple TV+ film Fly Me to the Moon, starring Johansson, 41, and Channing Tatum. More recently, the company produced Eleanor The Great, which was Johansson's directorial debut, Deadline also noted on Monday, June 1.

Reese's Book Club also launched in year 2017 and has gained a reputation for boosting the careers of female authors, such as Megan Miranda, per Vox. Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine has been involved in adaptations of multiple Reese's Book Club Picks, including Little Fires Everywhere that also starred Kerry Washington.

Now, enter The Fine Art of Lying, which tells the story of "a young wife and mother thrust into a world of wealth and privilege, whose rash mistake sets off a domino effect of murder and betrayal," according to a Harper Collins synopsis. The "riveting" psychological thriller, from the critically acclaimed author of Who Is Maud Dixon? was published on May 5.

"This book is crazy," Witherspoon, 50, teased in an Instagram video shared on May 5. "It is all about lying and making horrible decisions, and they're all so wealthy, and it's New York, and it's the world of art."

The video was captioned, "This book feels like a secret I'm not supposed to share…but it's too good not to! Set in New York's art world, full of lies, money, and very messy choices, our May @reesesbookclub pick is The Fine Art of Lying by Alexandra Andrews. Read or listen on @applebooks, our official ebook and audiobook partner."
