Lindsay Hubbard Reveals the Real Reason She and Carl Radke Are 'So Back' - and 'Summer House' Fans Are Loving It
Lindsay Hubbard-and Summer House fans, for that matter-never expected another chapter with Carl Radke, especially after their emotional breakup played out in front of cameras and viewers. But years after their friendship turned into a romance and their engagement ended in heartbreak, the two Summer House stars have found their way back to each other-and Lindsay says it came down to something they never lost: their friendship.
After their brutal on-camera split just weeks before their planned wedding, few expected Carl and Lindsay to ever return to the dynamic they had built over the years. But after a healing Summer House season, an honest closure conversation, and a little playful banter, Lindsay and Carl may be heading into their best (and most fun) summer together yet-as friends.
During her appearance on Carl's More Life with Carl Radke podcast, the former couple slipped back into the easy rhythm they had before they ever became a couple, with their familiar banter on full display. Carl pointed out that Lindsay was taking some playful jabs at him during the interview, saying, "I will say when you're jabbing, it means, I feel like that's our friendship was, the playfulness and being silly and not being afraid to kind of make fun of each other or poke fun."
Lindsay acknowledged that the powerful conversation they had during the Summer House Season 10 finale was a turning point for the better. "Like a closure conversation," Lindsay said. "And so I didn't know what else to do besides just like give little jabs here and there, and I love even still now like you still crack up at me, and I'm just like good, he understands I'm joking like it's not really that crazy."
Carl agreed that they have history-their friendship goes back about a decade- and undeniable chemistry. "I enjoy when you're firing at all cylinders," he said to Lindsay. "And even last summer, there was moments where I was laughing at the same things you were. And it brought a lot of joy to me, just because I'm like, that's where I want to get back to. It's like this friendliness and just light and easy."
That's when Lindsay replied, "We're so back. Everyone heard? We're so back!"
Fans can't get enough of the return of Carlito and Mother Hubbard back in the friendzone once again in the best way possible. "Lindsay and Carl kind of became more what the other wanted after the breakup. Carl got some drive and initiative, and motherhood softened Lindsay. I don't know if they could ever work out romantically, but I'm so happy to see them grow back their friendship," one person posted on Threads.
Another commenter joked, "We're going to bully Carl and Lindsay into getting back together??? Love the friendship. That's it!" Carl and Lindsay appear to be on board as Carl posted a photo alongside Lindsay and captioned it, "Nature is healing," and Lindsay shared it to her Instagram Story.
Carl and Lindsay also acknowledged how the Amanda Batula and West Wilson scandal may have been what brought them back to friendship. "I also think that this scandal within our cast without having like a full conversation between you, me, and Kyle, we almost instinctively banded together to like protect our house," she noted, adding, "You know like no one, no one's gonna burn our house down except for us."
