End AIDS Walk at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma
Join in supporting the fight against HIV and AIDS at the End AIDS Walk at Cheney Stadium, 2502 S. Tyler St., Tacoma. This year’s walks are coordinated with Pierce County AIDS Foundation, Lifelong and Spokane AIDS Network and are are being held throughout the state in September. The walk at Cheney Stadium benefits the Pierce County AIDS Foundation, and starts at 9 a.m. Saturday. Join a team, get sponsors and get to walking; registration is free. Get ready for a night of laughs when Kevin Hart brings his high-energy comedy to the stage at KeyArena in Seattle Center. Known for his roles in films including “Ride Along,” “About Last Night,” “Get Hard” and “Grudge Match,” he has also released three standup comedy albums. What’s happening at the Washington State Fair
The annual rodeo starts at 1 and 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the Grandstand. Tickets are $20-$30 for 1 p.m. and $25-$35 for 6:30 p.m. and include fair admission.
Saturday’s concert and show at the fair is Dan and Shay Dancin’ in the Dirt Party at 9 p.m. Tickets are $30 and include fair admission.
Gate hours are 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays, 9 a.m.-11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $10 adults, $7.50 students ages 6-18 and seniors 62 and older, free for kids 5 and younger. Parking in the fair lots is $10 Mondays-Fridays and $15 Saturdays and Sundays.
Transit options include:
Pierce Transit’s Fair Express service begins daily at 9:15 a.m. with the last trip leaving the fair at 11:30 p.m. Service is provided from the Tacoma Mall, Lakewood Towne Center and South Hill Mall; parking is free at these sites. Fares are $2 one way for adults, 75 cents for seniors and disabled and youth 18 and younger. Up to four children, ages 13 and younger, may ride free when accompanied by a fare-paying customer.
The Sounder train will run on Sept. 19 and 26 coming from Everett to Puyallup, a free Pierce Transit bus will take passengers to the fair.
