Fall plant sale at Chase Gardens in Orting
If you’re looking to spruce up your garden then make plans to come out for the Chase Garden Fall Plant Sale. There will be native wildflowers, fall blooming cyclamen, uncommon perennials and shrubs for winter winter interest and more ideas for your garden. Also specialty vendors will be on hand. Comedian Lewis Black performs at Pantages Theater
Bringing a cathartic release of anger and disillusionment in his standup comedy, Lewis Black, is more an angry optimist than mean-spirited curmudgeon. The Grammy Award-winning comedian also is an actor and author performing more than 200 nights a year through Europe, New Zealand, Canada and the United States. Come out for his show, “The Rant is Due: Part Deux” at 7 p.m. Sunday. He’s performing at the Pantages Theater, 901 Broadway, Tacoma. The Beach Boys come to Snoqualmie Casino
Together since 1961, The Beach Boys, bring that Southern California feel with its original surf sound to the stage. Over the years the band’s sound has transcended the years with songs including “Good Vibrations” and “Wouldn’t It Be Nice.” See them live in a 7 p.m. concert Sunday at the Snoqualmie Casino, 37500 SE North Bend Way, Snoqualmie. Tickets are $40-$90, and are available online at snocasino.com.
What’s happening at the Washington State Fair
Pitbull will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Grand Stand. Tickets are $70-$10 and include fair admission.
Gate hours are 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays, 9 a.m.-11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $12.50 adults, $9 ages 6-18 and seniors 62 and older, free for kids 5 and younger. Parking in the fair lots is $10 Mondays-Fridays and $15 Saturdays and Sundays.
Transit options include: Pierce Transit’s Fair Express service begins daily at 9:15 a.m. with the last trip leaving the fair at 11:30 p.m. Service is provided from the Tacoma Mall, Lakewood Towne Center and South Hill Mall; parking is free at these sites.
Bus fares are $2 one way for adults, 75 cents for seniors, disabled and youths 18 and younger. Up to four children, ages 13 and younger, may ride free when accompanied by a fare-paying rider.
