Play to Learn program keep kids and guardians engaged
Keep the kids engaged and active by planning to take them to one of the Play to Learn free sessions designed for parents, grandparents and guardians to join in and play. There are group activities, songs, individual play and group circle times. Here are the times, days and locations of this week's programs.

▪ 1:30-3 p.m. Monday at Willard Early Learning Center, 3201 S. D St., Tacoma, and South Hill Library, 15420 Meridian E., Puyallup.
▪ 10-11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Charles Wright Academy, 7723 Chambers Creek Road W., Tacoma, and Puyallup Public Library, 324 S. Meridian, Puyallup.
▪ 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Parkland Spanaway Library, 13718 Pacific Ave. S., Parkland, and Escape Zone, 841 Lincoln Blvd., McChord.
▪ 1:30-3 p.m. Wednesday at Graham Library, 9202 224th St. E., Graham, and Raindrops and Rainbows, 8197 American Lake Drive, Lewis North.
▪ 10-11:30 a.m. Thursday at Lakewood Library, 6300 Wildaire Road SW, Lakewood, and Peace Community Center, 21-5 S. Cushman Ave., Tacoma.
▪ 1:30-3 p.m. Thursday at Portland Avenue Community Center, 3513 E. Portland Ave., Tacoma.

Master Gardener training program explained at free session
If you have considered becoming a master gardener then you’ll want to attend an training information session held by the Pierce County Master Gardener program. The next training session begins in January and the 1 p.m. information session will give you all the details. It’s being held at the WSU Pierce County Extension Office, 3602 Pacific Ave., Tacoma, and it is free. For more information call 253-798-7170.
Free six-part series on Alzheimer’s and dementia for families
Take a look at the questions and answers on Alzheimer’s and dementia at a six-part series for families and individuals. The series, “Oh My Gosh: Now What?” will tackle subjects including how the disease progresses and what to expect, how to start the conversation and cope with the shock, typical moods and behaviors, how to pay for care and legal questions and where to turn for help and resources available. The sessions are 6 p.m. Mondays —Sept. 28, Oct. 12, Oct. 26, Nov. 2 and Nov. 16— at the Lakewood Senior Activity Center, 9112 Lakewood Drive S.W., Lakewood.
