GET OUT: Bollywood performance in Seattle and local art galleries exhibits

Bollywood Masala Orchestra and Dancers at Benaroya Hall

Get an authentic taste of the richness, pageantry and excitement of Indian music when the Bollywood Masala Orchestra and the Dancers of India come to Benaroya Hall, 200 University St., Seattle. The show, “Spirit of India,” brings to fruition the vision of Rahis Bharti to present to the world Indian live music and dance.

The show is 7:30 p.m. Wednesday with tickets $35-$70 available online at seattlesymphony.org

Local art galleries displaying new exhibits

▪ The Handforth Gallery in the Tacoma Public Library, 1102 Tacoma Ave. S., is currently display the Korean American Artists of Washington exhibit. It will continue through Oct. 30 and is free to the public during regular library hours.

▪ The American Art Company, 1126 Broadway, Tacoma, is displaying Marshall Johnson “Past & Present” work that spans a lifetime of observing the Great Northwest. It will be on exhibit until Oct. 31.

▪ The Kittredge Gallery on the University of Puget Sound campus is exhibiting “Bricked” by Katy Cowan; starting Oct. 5 artworks by Frances Chubb both on display through Nov. 7, and is open to the public during normal library hours. University of Puget Sound, 1500 N. Warner St., Tacoma.

▪ The Tahoma Center Gallery in Catholic Community Services, 1323 S. Yakima Ave. Tacoma, is displaying Pierce College Digital Design: Collected Works 2014-2015. It includes a collection of works from students featuring photographs, illustrations and digital paintings from 30 current and recent graduates. It will be on display through Oct. 30. The gallery is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
