Halloween activities for those wanting to start early
If you’re thinking of getting a jump on Halloween activities here are a few happening Friday.
▪ Downtown DuPont Trick-or-Treating will be 3-5 p.m. For more information call 253-964-8121.
▪ Get your costumes on and join in the Halloween Costume Party with music, dancing, games and food for all ages. It is 6:30-9 p.m. at First Congregational Church 7209 S. Puget Sound Ave., Tacoma. The event is hosted by Impeccable Youth, admission is free with donation of non-perishable food items for the food bank. ▪ Join in the Harvest Fest at the STAR Center, 3873 S. 66th St., Tacoma, for a night of fun with costume contest for all ages, goodie bags for kids participating in activities, cooking and decorating demonstrations for kids and access to the Treetops Playgrounds. The activities begin at 5:30 p.m. and is free to the public.
▪ Do so early trick-or-treating at the Sunrise Village Trunk-or-Treat from 6-8 p.m. There will be lots of fun and treats at Meridian Sunrise Village, 10507 156th ST. E., Puyallup. It is free to the public. For more information 253-904-8923.
Music by Maia Santell and House Blend in Tacoma
Enjoy the swinging sounds of Maia Santell and House Blend performing a mix of jazz, blues, Latin, swing, R&B and contemporary favorites at Studio 6 Ballroom, 2608 Sixth Ave., Tacoma. The music begins at 9:30 p.m. with tickets from $10-$15. For more information call 253-905-5301.
Improv theater with Muh Grog Zoo at the Pythian Temple
Bringing in the audience to its performances Muh Grog Zoo will perform Improvised One-Act Plays at 9 p.m. Friday. If you enjoy improvisation, then come out and join in the collective creation of plays inspired by a word from the audience. The show is at the Pythian Temple, 924 Broadway, Tacoma. Tickets are $8. University of Puget Sound faculty presents play
The University of Puget Sound Fall Faculty presents the production, “Force of Habit by Guillen de Castro,” directed by Sara Freeman. The play by Guillen de Castro was written circa 1610 is a newly translated version by Kathleen Jeffs. The play is at 7:30 p.m. Friday at University of Puget Sound Jones Hall, 1500 N. Warner St., Tacoma. Tickets are $11, $7 seniors, students, military and faculty/staff/students and are available at the door.
