Tacoma Science Cafe: Epic Math Battles, the monthly event for science lovers. Delve into mathematic techniques and determine ones are which superior. The night is free and open to the public. It’s at 6:30 p.m.Tuesday at The Swiss Pub, 1904 S. Jefferson Ave., Tacoma.; 253-572-2821.

Wine & Song Benefit at Classical Tuesdays in Old Town features soprano Cyndia Sieden, accompanied by Jennifer Bowman, followed by wines poured by Ginkgo Winery and finger foods. Benefits the Classical Tuesdays series of free chamber music. 7 p.m. Tuesday at Connelly Law Offices, 2301 N 30th St., Tacoma. Washington State Trivia Put your knowledge to the test as we look to crown a Washington state history champion at this trivia night for all ages on all things. At 7 p.m. Wednesday at The Swiss Pub, 1904 S. Jefferson Ave., Tacoma; 253-272-9747.

World Affairs Council Tacoma Travel Talk Melissa Vincett traveled to Iceland and will share her experiences speaking with members of Iceland’s Parliament, the President of Iceland, nonprofit leaders; the agenda will also include tales of elf sightings in that mystical country.
