Sonoro Choral Society presents The Sonoro Women’s Choir in “Balulalow” the celebration of Christmas concert. Also appearing is The Sonoro Scandinavian Children’s Choir singing a selection of children’s folksongs from Norway, Sweden and Finland. Director Jeremy Shilley will hold a free pre-concert lectures at 6:30 p.m. to provide a historical, cultural, and musical context for composer Benjamin Britten and his work. Federal Way Chorale presents it Christmas Concert “Amahl and the Night Visitors” at 7:30 p.m. Friday at St. Luke’s Luterhan Church, 515 S. 312th St., Federal Way. Tickets are $18, $15 seniors, and free for youth 18 and younger. Go to brownpapertickets.com/event/2342249 to get yours.

Going to Seattle for the holidays, make plans to take in the Gingerbread Village in the lobby of the Sheraton Seattle Hotel, 1400 Sixth Ave. It is free to the public; donations are accepted for the JDRF Northwest Chapter for the fight against Type 1 diabetes. It will be on display through Jan. 3.
