Hit the ice: Get into the holiday season at the Franciscan Polar Plaza in Tollefson Plaza in downtown Tacoma. In its fifth season, the open-air ice skating rink will be open through Jan. 10 and features special events. Food trucks will be on hand. Tickets are $4-$8 with $2 for skate rental.
