Showers and flowers

Enjoy the art works of the Rainier League of Arts at its exhibit, “Showers, Flowers and More,” on display in The Wagner House at Lakewold Gardens, 12317 Gravelly Lake Drive SW, Lakewood. Works from more than 30 artists will be on display 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday through Sunday. The art show is free, garden admission fees apply; $7 seniors, students and military, $9 adults. Dog days

For all you dog lovers, make plans to take in the American Kennel Club Summer Dog Show, hosted by Puyallup Valley Dog Fanciers and the Tacoma Kennel Club this weekend. There will be judging, vendors, obedience and rally trials, and — of course — show dogs to admire. Hours are 8 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Washington State Fair Events Center, 110 Ninth Ave. SW, Puyallup. Choir concert trio

‘Big Brass’ bandstand

Bringing the sounds of Scott Joplin, Hoagy Carmichael and W.A. Mozart, the Evergreen Brass Quintet and Friends will be performing its annual “Big Brass” concert. Carpenter in concert

Girl power

Featuring more than 200 voices from grades three through 12th, the Northwest Girlchoir will be performing its final concert of the season, “Out on the Town.” The high-energy concert will feature toe-tapping numbers and combined choir works in the 2 p.m. performance at Benaroya Hall, 200 University St., Seattle.
