Chamber music at UPS
The harp takes center stage in the first Jacobsen concert of the year at the University of Puget Sound. Harpist Catherine Case plays with Karla Flygare, flute; Alistair McRae, cello; Joyce Ramée, viola; Maria Sampen, violin; and Tanya Stambuk, piano, in a program of French Romantic music by Ravel, Saint-Saëns, Debussy and Ibert.

Comedy ‘Hound of the Baskervilles’ at Lakewood Playhouse
Sherlock Holmes played as a three-person comedy with vaudeville and Python-spoof thrown in? You bet. Lakewood Playhouse opens the season with “Hound of the Baskervilles,” directed by John Munn, with Jacob Tice as Holmes, Kayla Crawford as Watson and Gary Chambers as everyone else.

‘Moby Dick’ with Assemblage Theater
In a stage adaptation by Ken Conner, “Moby Dick — The Tale Retold” tells the famous Herman Melville story of a man obsessed with killing the whale that cost him a leg. Assemblage Theater, directed by David Domkoski, performs the work in the intimate black-box Tacoma Youth Theater space with Dennis Rolly, Tim Hoban and more.
