The Tacoma Youth Symphony Association is hosting a concert Saturday to celebrate its 60th anniversary. Students from all five youth symphony orchestras will be performing at the Pantages Theater starting at 7 p.m., according to a news release.

The association has sponsored a variety of ensembles and music education programs since its founding in 1963.

On May 6 musicians will perform Ottorinio Respighi’s “Pines of Rome” and Antonín Dvořák’s “Finale” from his “Symphony No. 8.” The concert also will feature works by Cait Nishimura, Naoya Wada and more.

Historical photos and albums of the organization will be available for the audience to peruse in the theater lobby prior to the start of the concert and during intermission.

Tickets range from $17.50 to $32.50 before tax and fees. You can purchase tickets at www.tysamusic.org.
