Tacoma Concert Band goes “Bach to Broadway”

The Tacoma Concert Band Saturday explores the spectrum of music from classics to musicals, and features the winner of the student soloist competition, percussionist Tyler Ussery.

University of Puget Sound does ‘Rent’

Twenty years after “Rent” blasted onto New York stages and stayed there for a decade, the Pulitzer-winning reimagining of Puccini’s opera “La Boheme” as an artist tale set in an AIDS-torn society comes to University of Puget Sound. With a rock score and a setting of love, drug addiction and suicide, it still resonates.

‘Death of a Salesman’ at Lakewood Playhouse

Arthur Miller’s Pulitzer and Tony award-winning classic about how the American dream can be shattered comes to Lakewood Playhouse, directed by James Venturini with Joseph Grant as despairing salesman Willy Loman.

Museum workshop on preserving heirlooms

Hilary Pitenger, curator of collections at the White River Valley Museum, takes care of historic heirlooms on a daily basis, and shares expert tips at three upcoming workshops on preserving family treasures.
