‘Arsenic’ at ManeStage Theatre

“Arsenic and Old Lace,” that popular 1940s musical and Frank Capra film about two sweet elderly sisters with a bad poisoning habit, comes to Sumner thanks to ManeStage Theatre. Starring Daniel Cross, Daisy Nau and Cheryl Olson.

Adelphian Concert Choir

After a tour around Oregon, California and Washington, the University of Puget Sound’s Adelphian Concert Choir will do a free home concert this weekend. The program ranges from folk-based melodies to love songs, including “Set Me as a Seal” by René Clausen and Brahms’ “Neckerein op. 31 no. 2,” plus “She Walks in Beauty,” a new work by a former Adelphian student.

Finisterra Trio plays Schubert, Mendelssohn

The award-winning Northwest-based Finisterra Trio, with pianist Tanya Stambuk, violinist Brittany Boulding and cellist Kevin Krentz, returns to the University of Puget Sound for a concert of Mendelssohn (Piano Trio in c minor op. 66) and Schubert (Piano Trio in E-flat major op. 100).

Lincoln Center musician Walter Blanding at B Sharp

Walter Blanding, a saxophonist with the renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center orchestra, will play a Tacoma gig as part of a Northwest tour, thanks to Tacoma Jazz Association. After giving workshops at the Pacific Lutheran University School of Jazz and concerts in North Bend, Whatcom and Bellingham, Blanding will play at the B Sharp Coffee House this weekend with pianist Danny Kolke, bassist Michael Glynn and drummer Greg Williamson.
