Mark your calendars for two events this weekend: The South Sound Craft Beer Festival and the Tacoma Buddhist Temple’s Fall Food and Crafts Bazaar. Here’s a look at what’s happening and when.

CRAFT BEER FESTIVAL

More than 40 brewers will pour 100 kinds of beer at the South Sound Craft Beer Festival noon-6 p.m. Saturday at the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall and Plaza, 2727 E. D St., Tacoma.

Tickets are $25 at the door and include a commemorative glass and six 5-ounce tastes (more tastes available for purchase). Designated driver discounted tickets are $5 and include free water and soda. A $5 admission discount goes to members of the military with valid photo identification.

The event might be called the South Sound Craft Beer Festival, but many of the brewers are from Seattle, the greater Puget Sound area or the other side of the mountains. Nine Pierce County brewers will pour —   7 Seas, Gig Harbor Brewing Co., Harmon Brewing Co., North 47 Brewing Co., Northwest Brewing Co., Odd Otter Brewing, Ram Restaurant and Brewery, Wet Coast Brewery and Wingman Brewers.

Must be 21 and older to attend. Information at washingtonbeer.com. The event is sponsored by the Washington Beer Commission.

FOOD & CRAFTS BAZAAR

The Tacoma Buddhist Temple will host its annual Fall Food and Crafts Bazaar from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday at the temple, 1717 S. Fawcett Ave., Tacoma.

The event will feature all kinds of food, including rice curry, chicken teriyaki, unagi (eel) bowls, tofu bowls, miso soup, Spam musubi, udon noodles and a bake sale featuring mochi and other treats made by temple members. Food items are priced $1-$10 each.

The event will also include a bazaar featuring vintage Japanese dolls, household items, kimonos and more. Sumi-e watercolor paintings by local artists will be on display.

Admission is free. More information at tacomabt.org or 253-627-1417.
