It’s no wonder readers start sending me emails beginning the first week in November that say, “Where can we dine out for Thanksgiving?”

Well, here’s a list.

Ben Dew’s Clubhouse Grill

6501 Sixth Ave., Tacoma; 253-564-4442.

Atmosphere: Casual family restaurant.

Serving: Plated turkey dinner until 8 p.m. with mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, vegetables, soup or salad and a slice of pumpkin pie ($18), plus plated ham and scalloped potato dinner ($17), a prime rib dinner ($28.99-$42.99) and halibut Oscar ($23). Additional pies or cheesecake available for dessert ($4.99-$5.99).

Black Bear Diner Lakewood

Atmosphere: Casual family restaurant.

Serving: Serving the restaurant’s regular menu until 10 p.m., plus a plated turkey dinner with a choice of soup or salad, corn muffin, mashed red potatoes and gravy, stuffing, vegetables and pumpkin pie ($17.99). Also serving a plated prime rib dinner ($19.99).

Cliff House

Atmosphere: Upscale with a water view.

Serving: Special menu of plated dinners served 11 a.m.-6 p.m. The menu includes a Thanksgiving plate with roasted turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce and vegetables ($29.99), plus a prime rib dinner ($44.95), spinach cannelloni ($29.99), crab-stuffed halibut ($47.99) and more. Appetizers also listed. A la carte desserts include pumpkin and apple pie ($7.99).

Gateway Cottage

Atmosphere: Homey and cozy, safe to bring your mother and picky sister-in-law.

Serving: Plated dinners served 1-6 p.m. The Thanksgiving plate includes roasted turkey and brown sugar glazed ham with mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, corn and sweet potatoes ($26.99). Also a baron of beef dinner plate ($26.99) and crab-stuffed salmon plate ($28.99). All dinners include rolls, salad and a slice of pie.

Hob Nob

Atmosphere: Casual family restaurant.

Serving: A plated turkey dinner from noon-9 p.m. with a roll, cranberry sauce, salad and a choice of three sides that includes the usual Thanksgiving trimmings of mashed potatoes with turkey gravy, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, candied Brussels sprouts and brown butter carrots ($24.99). Prime rib dinner with the same side choices ($27.99). Kid-sized plates are $12. Dessert is included with choices including pie, gingersnap pumpkin cream pie, carrot cake. A 10 percent discount for active or retired military members with ID.

Lobster Shop

Serving: A special menu of several plated meals from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. The menu includes a traditional Thanksgiving plate with Diestel Farms roasted turkey, a roll with brandied apricot butter, pecan praline candied yams, whipped potatoes with herb gravy, stuffing, Brussels sprouts and cranberry orange relish ($29.95 adults/$13.95 kids ages 6-10 and $5.95 kids 5 and younger). Other dinner plates include pumpkin ravioli ($22), prime rib ($38) and King salmon ($32).

Tanglewood Grill

Serving: Plated turkey dinners from 12-5 p.m. with roasted turkey, cranberry compote, dinner roll, stuffing, garlic mashed potatoes with Puget Sound Porter gravy, roasted Brussels sprouts, green bean casserole, pecan or pumpkin pie ($24.95 adults/$14.95 kids 10 and younger). Limited menu available.

The Mill Restaurant And Sports Bar

Atmosphere: An upscale leaning family restaurant.

Serving: A small menu of plated dinners from 1-7 p.m. The menu will include a Thanksgiving plate with turkey breast roulade with apple-walnut stuffing, cranberry mostarda, buttermilk mashed potatoes, turkey gravy and a spin on green bean casserole ($27). Other plated dinners include wild mushroom risotto ($19) and prime rib ($30-$49). A la carte dessert includes pumpkin pie ($7) and chocolate mousse ($9).

Alegre Bakery And Gelato

The Proctor neighborhood cafe is offering a complete take-out Thanksgiving dinner. The meals are $12 per person and include a half-pound of roasted turkey per person, garlic whipped mashed potatoes with sage cream gravy, sugared and spiced yams, honey sage brioche stuffing, green beans with mushroom gravy, blood orange cranberry sauce. Add-on dinner rolls and soup ($5 per person) and spinach salad ($3 per person) available. Desserts available include apple or pumpkin pie ($13 a pie). Orders must be placed by Nov. 18. Pick up will be Nov. 21 and 22. Meals will be packaged and ready for heating.

Brank’s BBQ

The Sumner barbecue restaurant will sell smoked turkeys ($42.95-$72.95) and smoked ham ($58.95). Or, bring your own turkey for smoking ($1.80 per pound, thawed and in original store packaging). Side dishes include cheesy hashbrown casserole ($15.99, 10-12 servings), green beans with bacon and onion ($12.99), green bean casserole ($15.99) and macaroni and cheese ($17.99). All side dishes are uncooked. Cooking instructions will be provided. Cornbread ($14), quart of gravy ($5.99) available, as is dessert. Pickup will be 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Nov. 22.
