Where to find National Pizza Day specials in Pierce County

It has been decided that today, Feb. 9, is National Pizza Day. No one really knows who decides these things, but a few Pierce County pizzerias have opted to jump into the fray with one-day only deals.

Bar Rosa

1202 S. 11th St., Tacoma, barrosatacoma.com

Newcomer Bar Rosa, which opened in Tacoma’s Hilltop neighborhood last November with excellent Neapolitan-style pies and cocktails to match, is offering $12 margheritas ($3 off the standard price). For perhaps the best marg in town, it’s a good day to get here when the bar opens at 3 p.m. Super bonus: the recently launched happy hour from 3-5 p.m. means you can also try their $9 mini calzone, $7 cacio e pepe Brussels sprouts and $8 sparkling Negroni.

Bar Rosa opened in Tacoma’s Hilltop District in November 2021. With an Italian wood-burning oven as its only cooking surface, the food focuses on Neapolitan pizzas accompanied by amaro-centric cocktails. Pictured here is the margherita on Nov. 19, 2021.
