The News Tribune asked readers to vote on the best sports bar in Pierce County. We’re down to the Final Four.

There are now just four contenders in The News Tribune’s battle for the best sports bar in Pierce County.

An intense Lush 8 round offered some very close games.

The Sixth Avenue contest between West End Pub and Dirty Oscar’s Annex went down to the wire, but it was the 16th seed — due only to our alphabetized ordering system — that came out on top. West End tallied 146 points to DOA’s 142, or 51 percent to 49 percent.

Katie Downs likewise continues its dominance, shutting down Engine House by a slim margin, 151 tallies to 132, or 53 percent to 47 percent.

Sadly, it’s last call for Ale House Pub in University Place, which mustered 94 tallies to the 189 snagged by Terry’s Office Tavern.

Finally, Beach Tavern outpaced Hank’s, 154 to 131, or 54 percent to 46 percent.

In this second-to-last round, the No. 1 seed Beach Tavern meets No. 12 Terry’s Office Tavern, and No. 8 seed Katie Downs Waterfront Tavern tips off with No. 16 West End Pub.

Will the Cinderella run continue? Cast your vote today to ensure the best sports bar wins.
