New kick at Kickstand Cafe

New owners have taken over Kickstand Café, 604 Fawcett Ave., Tacoma.

Karin Green says she and her husband, Jeff, plan to re-open on May 8, permits permitting.

"We've given the place a pretty good face lift," Karin Green said. "It was pretty dingy."

Green, a former Microsoftie, said she plans to kick up the menu, with soups and sandwiches in addition to coffee and pastries. She also wants to add live local music –- jazz and "unplugged rock."
