Breaking burger news: The Burgerville Nomad makes another mobile appearance this weekend
What's this? A second trip in a single week by the Burgerville Nomad to South Sound?
An email from company reps say the roving Burgerville truck will serve up burgers and fries and other Burgerville standards tomorrow, Aug. 28, during the Lakewood International Festival (a free event, click the link for details).
Last Friday, I wrote about how the Burgerville Nomad made its inaugural appearance in Tacoma. Click "more" to see the menu and five more reasons why I like Burgerville.
Last week, I gave five reasons why I like Burgerville. Here are five more:6. Rosemary chicken sandwich and shoestring fries. 7. Burgerville Centralia is a great stop on the way to Portland, especially if you have whiny kids in the back seat who need to be bribed with fries and a shake. 8. Burgerville employs a sustainability intern.9. Burgers are delicious. 10. Burgers served from a truck. I like the concept of mobile food. To extend that concept beyond the Nomad, mobile food is a business model with reduced fixed costs that may open opportunities to cooks/business people selling and serving interesting styles of street cuisine. Mobile food, and the affordability of opening a mobile food business, offers a lot of potential for the local food culture. I'll report about the mobile food truck/cart/trailer trend as it unfolds. a TNT Diner reader just emailed to tell me about yet another mobile food truck that's opened. Stay tuned for more details.
Here's the Burgerville Nomad menu. It may be stretched or abbreviated for the Lakewood visit tomorrow, but this gives you a general idea of the menu:
