Paddy Coyne's in downtown Tacoma closes its doors

Paddy Coyne’s in downtown Tacoma has closed. The last day of business for the Irish pub appears to have been Sunday. Billy Whelan, a manager of a sister Paddy Coyne’s in Seattle said that the restaurant would not reopen.

“The construction on the street wiped out the street,” said Whelan, who manages the Pier 70 Seattle location of Paddy Coyne’s. He added “Pat (Coyne) looked at a huge drop for the summer. On top of that, with the drop cost of that construction, he couldn’t keep it going.” The Seattle and Bellevue restaurants will remain open, he said.

Paddy Coyne’s opened in downtown Tacoma in 2007. The Irish pub served Irish beer, spirits and a mean Guinness Irish stew.
